Solderable Brenda's:

The bare wire Brenda's are easily the best RCA's connectors in the world today.
Their manufacturing costs make them considerably expensive but they represent the pinnacle of what can be achieved in an RCA connector.

To augment this range of connectors another family of connectors has been designed.
These are the Solderable Brenda's.
Brenda connectors that use the same high quality materials and electroplate finish as their bare wire equivalents.

There is no point in making good designs from mediocre metals and finishes when everyone else is doing the same.

In short, if there is to be anything dramatic in a new design in an existing domain then the result should be outstanding performance.
This criteria is met in all the Brenda Connectors available.
The Solderable Brenda is exceptional in its performance in comparison to other equivalent connectors. Exclusively because of both the materials used, engineering design, applied design theory  and in its quality of workmanship. There are 2 Solderable Brenda's:

The Brenda B7/B7S
"The Quintessential"

The Brenda B7 uses a signal pin similar to the bare wire Brenda's that has been fabricated to accept wire for soldering.
A long track of  nearly 9mm is located in the pin for securing the signal wire into place.

There are 2 'bays' on the Brenda B7 and 1 'bay' on the B7S.
(For the B7, the first bay is for the signal and the second bay is for the return, which is soldered to the floor of the second bay behind the signal bay).

The Brenda B7 is 76mm long of which the body is 67mm long. The single bay B7S is shorter it being 69mm in total length, with the body section being 60mm long. For both B7 and B7S, the outer barrel diameter is 13mm and uses Teflon as the main insulator.

After the cable has been soldered into place, heatshrink is applied to cover the exposed bay(s) and the cable tail.
Optionally some urethane can be sprayed into the bays or they can be filled with neutral setting silicone
to fully seal the cable into the connector.
Heatshrink should always be applied after the assembly is completed.
The Brenda B7/B7S will accommodate cable diameters up to 11 mm in diameter ( 7/16" diameter ).

The Brenda B9
The "Exquisite"

Utilising a 9mm long track in the signal pin for the signal wire and a double bridge at the rear for the return; the Brenda B9  secures itself to the RCA chassis receptor with a Pure Copper ClawLock.
The ClawLock fully shields the contents of the B9 and is machined  from HCOFC:  high-conductivity oxygen free copper, unlike any other equivalent locking device on any RCA connector on the market today or ever before.
( Many others are manufactured from aluminium or brass and even steel ).
The firmness with which the ClawLock clamps the claws of the Brenda B9 onto the appliance chassis receptor is identical to the Brenda B3 and Brenda B2.
What this means is that the B9 connector has a firm and secure anchoring for transmitting its signal from interconnect cable to the appliance with no effects from vibrations or micro-arcing or ringing due to a loose fit or other unnecessary rotating locking mechanisms.
The Brenda B9 will accommodate interconnect cables up to 13mm ( 1/2") in diameter and secures the cable into place with 3 set screws.

Dimensions are : Overall length: 95mm. Body length: 86mm long and 15mm in diameter.

COMMON CHARACTERISTICS FOR THE SOLDERABLE BRENDA'S.

*  All solderable Brenda's are fabricated from  Solid billet High Conductivity Oxygen Free Copper ( HCOFC); Pure Copper > 99.94%Cu!
*  All Solderable Brenda's use Teflon as the  insulator between the polarities.

For GOLD plated Brenda's:
*  All Solderable Brenda's are electroplated with 15.0+ microns of pure Silver and then
1.0+ micron of Hard Gold Plate ( 23.5 Karat ).
*  All Solderable Brenda's 'signal pins' are electroplated with a total of 3.0+ microns of Hard Gold Plate ( 23.5 Karat ).

For SILVER plated Brenda's:

PERFORMANCE.

It's the combination of superb materials, excellent engineering and attention to design detail that give these RCA connectors the edge over their rivals. Their performance is surprisingly close to the Bare-Wire Brenda's; notwithstanding the obvious advantage that high-pressure bare wire can do for audio performance.
Whatever cable used the performance is superior, in every instance, to any brass connector.

USER COMMENTS.

Sue Pechey from Listening Ridge Station near Crows Nest, Queensland:
"You don't have to be a bat to tell the difference"!
"An improvement in clarity across the whole audio range"
Sue has a set of Brenda B7's with Silver Plated Oxygen Free Copper balanced cable optimised for single ended use.

Note 1

If you are intending to use Hot Glue to fill the void in the Brenda connector do not allow contact with your bare skin while the Brenda connectors are hot. Copper is not only an excellent electrical conductor ( second only to Silver )  it is the second best thermal conductor ( Silver being the best ). This applies equally to the  B7 & B9.
