HAREFIELD - a 2 way active bookshelf/stand mounting
loudspeaker
(image to follow)
System description:
An RF suppression circuit precedes the electronically balanced input, followed
by a specially designed second order cross-over network, which in combination
with the drivers produces an acoustic forth order response. The transducers are
electronic time aligned, this feeds two similar power amplifiers. The amplifier,
which is mounted on aluminium panels that function as a heat sink, is capable
of reproducing high level transients very faithfully.
Enclosure:
The “HAREFIELD” is an active stand mount two speaker systems, with
a specially designed second order electronic crossover and two power amplifiers
which are directly connected to each driver. A sealed compartment at the rear
of the cabinet is used to house the amplifiers. The cabinet is constructed from
18mm thick medite, 4mm thick bitumen pads are adhered to the panels to mute resonance
and 40mm thick acoustic foam is used to absorb internal reflections.
